What is the difference between and pit bull and a phony bitch?

$150,000.00

"Woman of the people" Sarah Palin received 150,000 in clothing, make-up and "hair consulting".

The expenses include $75,062 spent at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis and $41,850 in St. Louis in early September. The committee also reported spending $4,100 for makeup and hair consulting. The expenses were first reported by Politico.com.

I am sure the folks in Ohio and Pennsylvania that have lost their jobs will feel a real connection to the McCain-Palin ticket.

Arrogant Aaron Schock

Peoria Journal Star

"Where has Aaron Schock been? Exactly where he will be if elected to Congress - out raising money for his political action committee and his own campaign war chest instead of listening and responding to the people of central Illinois," Callahan said.

Arrogant Aaron Schcok created his own leaderhsip PAC.  you would think the guy could at least wait until he finds out if he wins.  This is very rare, and is a "tell" as to what you can expect from Schock, unbridled ambition.  Don't take my word for it, check out what a writer from CQ (Congressional Quarterly) has to say

But it is still extremely rare for a candidate who has not yet arrived in Congress to establish a leadership PAC -- especially someone like Schock, who still is roughly seven months out from the general election that he expects to send him to Washington.

Like I said, if anyone thinks Aaron Schock gives a hoot about anything other than his next office, they are sorely mistaken.

Ray LaHood: Scared of Video

Ray LaHood in rare form as he speaks to the mother of an Iraq war vetean.  As part of last years' "Iraq Summer" program there was an attempt to get congressmen on video, "If you want to talk to me, tell them to get out of here." LaHood orders the woman

I, for one will miss the class that Ray LaHood exhibits.  Makes one proud to have him represent us.  I am sure Ray told this Mother how, as a parent he understands, her son risking his life for our country and him burning political capital trying to get his son appointed US Attorney and now elected State's Attorney.

Schock Reappears

Schock Repsonds

Congressional candidate Colleen Callahan is criticizing her opponent Aaron Schock for spending too much time fundraising, being "AWOL" and not responding to issues........

Callahan, a former broadcast journalist, criticized Schock's availability to the media.

Schock is used to writing his own press, not being questioned by it.

"Before Colleen Callahan was a candidate in this race, I had outlined my support for ethanol and biodiesel. I support ethanol, it's a piece of the puzzle in terms of energy independence," Schock said. "I have yet to hear from Mrs. Callahan where she stands specifically on issues pertaining to the Second Amendment."

Meow!  A wee be testy,  Aaron Schock?

"Where has Aaron Schock been? Exactly where he will be if elected to Congress - out raising money for his political action committee and his own campaign war chest instead of listening and responding to the people of central Illinois," Callahan said.

Exactly.  Aaron Schock only cares about one thing- Aaron Schock.  He is already looking for a way to try to move past this office.  The emergence of Colleen Callahan is the best thing that has happened for the Democratic party in the 18th district in generations.

The state representative also has been in session in the House through May 31 with a good attendance record.

What is good?  How many days has Aaron Schock missed while he has been campaigning in the primary and fundraising?

"Where has (Callahan) been?" Schock asked. "I think my overwhelming re-elections to the General Assembly speak volumes as to how my constituents feel they've been represented."

Re-elections?  You have been re-elected once, in 2006, your arrogance will not play well with the rural voters.

Same as it ever was

No return phone calls

Where is Schock? State Rep. Aaron Schock . . . where are you?

"Schock could not be reached for comment" is becoming a trend in Journal Star stories......

So his campaign manager, who said he also couldn't reach Schock because he was "very, very busy," responded for him.

In other words, don't call us we'll call you.  Can you believe the arrogance of Aaron Schock?  I can, the media has never questioned him on anything.  I can only imagine how upset he was when he saw the paper today.  I hope this means the coverage will be balanced, since his stenographer is gone.

Some ranking Republican leaders in the 18th District are starting to get concerned. What is he thinking?

Don't you worry republicans, Schock will cook up some story to counter this story.

Ariana Leaves Town

After a delightful lunch at Mr G's on Main St, I decided to take a walk West on Main St to check on the progress of the business incubator. As I passed the Gaslight I heard the most horrific screaming and crying. At first I started to head back to Mr G's to get my car, but decided I should do my civic duty and lend a hand to the poor soul.

Running up Main St the cries became louder and more desperate, was it another shooting, mugging or even worse a sexual assault? As I continued up Main I realized the victims anguish was not normal, but I was soon put at ease as I neared office of Representative Aaron Schock. Certainly a crime would not be committed so close to his office, so I stopped in to see if anyone there knew what was going on. The wails were excruciating-coming from his conference room-it was none other that Schock himself. The he was crying like a kid that had to repeat kindergarten, reading the Word on the Street column-Ariana Huffington is leaving town.

Journal Star Condems Ernie "The Drunk" Russell's Smear Campaign

Actually no they don't. Russell's smear campaign against Dave Koehler rolls on. I guess if it was directed at Aaron Schock it would be front page news, but since it is a Republican it is alright.

Remember Ray Lahood telling the GOP candidate in the 91st House Dist to quit the negative campaigning because, "Daryl, that's not you.", evidently it is Ray. He has given Ernie Russell just under $10,000 this week. At first glance I thought he was paying off Ernie's liquor tab for the past couple of days, but then I realized it was for advertising. Ray Lahood, the Washington DC, Potomic Fever-carrying sack of shit is bankrolling Ernie's negative ads. Ray have fun in the minority party in January, the countdown clock is to your right.

Ariana Huffington Strikes Again

Word Given to us by Aaron Schock/Word on the Street

When you lie to yourself long enough you start to believe it. Once again the shoddy reporting of Ariana Huffington rears its ugly head. After a small town two or three time a week newspaper beats the award-winning largest paper in downstate IL they reluctantly report on the story.

Grube - without the board's permission - had worked out a payment schedule with Schock's campaign to keep Cartwright on the not-for-profit's payroll while Schock reimbursed Freedom House for all her expenses.
Board members, who have largely declined to speak publicly, said they decided to bring Cartwright back because it just didn't look good to have her working on Schock's campaign while receiving a Freedom House paycheck.

Because it is illegal and could jeporadize thier State and Federal funding, along with their Not For Profit standing.

Flak hit the fan when a local newspaper - the Bureau County Republican - printed an article in which unnamed employees charged that Cartwright was receiving a paycheck from Freedom House while working on a political campaign.
Per their tax-exempt status, not-for-profit organizations are prohibited from engaging in political activity or making endorsements as an organization.
What's more, while Freedom House is not a state agency, its budget does rely heavily on state funding. It would be a violation for Cartwright to work a campaign while accepting a not-for-profit's paycheck.

A violation of the law-which makes it ILLEGAL.

"I never said a word about it in any board meeting. I did not advocate for it. I did not facilitate it. I did not ask for it," Shearer said.

That would make Shearer complicit in this affair. He has worked on campaigns long enough to know that this arrangement is illegal. The fact that he did not advocate for it makes no difference, as a board member he had a responsibility to Freedom House not to jeporadize their Not For Profit status. Shearer put partisan politics ahead of the well-being of the organization. Ariana put her disdain for Spears and infatuation for Schock in front of the accurate reporting of this story. You can read more commentary over at Bill's site.

He's Done A Lot...He'll Do More

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words. Thanks Shepler

The writers for the PJS Editorial Board may kiss Ray Lahood's sleazy ass, but Editorial Cartoonist Scott Shepler doesn't. He tells it like it is. Too bad the PJS is filled with lapdogs both in the Ed Board and reporting ranks. It truly is a shame.
