Hand Jobs for Ray Lahood Continue at the Journal Star

This week's Word of the Street works overtime to provide cover for Ray Lahood. The first snip tells us what a great mediator Lahood is for stepping in to try to broker a compromise between the City of Peoria, Park District and the School District. What they don't tell the average reader is that Lahood's Son is married to the daughter of long-time Park District Director Bonnie Noble. One might be inclined to think that Lahood would weigh in on Noble's side as not to make the Holiday dinners uncomfortable.

In the second tidbit, they burn Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis for taking a taxpayer funded trip to Germany at a time when finances are tight at City Hall. Fair enough, Ardis should not have gone abroad on the taxpayers dime. My question is this: "Where is this same moral indignation when Ray takes a trip to India on the taxpayers dollar?" Or trips funded by groups that spend millions to lobby the halls of congress.
